Network monitoring is one of the ways to understand what is happening within the network. This session will cover the basic knowledge of network monitoring and issues that we should know (Ex: legal issues, privacy issues, encryption, covert channel, etc.). 2 types of hands-on trainings using malicious traffic data are included.
Keisuke Kamata (JPCERT/CC — JPCERT Coordination Center, JP) 
Keisuke Kamata is the Deputy Director of Global Coordination Division at JPCERT/CC.He started work at JPCERT/CC in 2002 engaging in incident handling operations and has since engaged in several projects and areas of work, such as network monitoring project ISDAS (Internet Scan Data Acquisition System), vulnerability handling operations, threat analysis, as well as providing information to national critical infrastructures and to the wide public. He is currently responsible for overall global coordination areas including support for overseas CSIRT establishment and operations.
