A Technical Colloquium Format
In principle, the TC event is restricted to FIRST members only. Nevertheless, since this will be a joint event with other CSIRT initiatives in the region, there will be two additional events adjacent to the TC in order to achieve non-FIRST-members as well. These two events are:
FIRST/TRANSITS Course (in CSIRT issues)
One of the missions of FIRST is to promote the creation and expansion of Incident Response teams and membership from organizations around the world.
This course will be delivered as part of a strategic program FIRST is engaged on, providing training in regions where typically there are not enough CSIRT training opportunities like Asia, Latin America and Africa.
This tutorial will help participants to:
- understand the requirements for establishing an effective CSIRT
- identify the key issues associated with this process
- define an action plan to implement a new CSIRT within their organization
Security Workshop
The latest issues in incidents response and prevention, vulnerabilities analysis, forensics and related aspects of computer security will be addressed at this open workshop.
Additionally, a full-day hands-on course will be conducted by respected experts who will give the attendees – beginners and experienced - an opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge on relevant issues of a specific topic.
This workshop aims to:
- stimulate the CSIRT development in the region and reach out to potential FIRST members and interested parties.
- participants (FIRST members and non-members) to share information experiences, viewpoints and information in different security topics.
- FIRST members to interact with Latin American CSIRT community for better know ongoing projects in incident handling area as well as other CSIRT initiatives in the region
