TRANSITS Training Courses

FIRST, in cooperation with TERENA (the European NREN association), organizes the well-known TRANSITS training courses for CSIRT professionals all over the world. FIRST coordinates the maintenance of the course materials and stimulates its improvement - and seeks to enable TRANSITS courses worldwide. TERENA, holder of the TRANSITS copyrights (the course was nurtured in Europe), concentrates on TRANSITS for the European region - with back-up from FIRST.

The goal of TRANSITS is to give the world access to high-quality CSIRT courses at low cost. The content is aimed specifically at new team members, or people starting or supporting a CSIRT. The two tracks, technical and business, ensure that the course is suited to more than one category of participants - and the highly interactive set-up ensures that all categories learn from one another and not only from the tutors.

The Upcoming Courses

TERENA and FIRST will jointly organise the following TRANSITS training course:

• FIRST/TRANSITS Training Course - Seoul, Korea (in English)
• FIRST/TRANSITS Training Course - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (in Portuguese/Spanish)
  The workshop is hosted and sponsored by CAIS/RNP - the Brazilian Academic and Research Network CSIRT - and co-organized with other Latin American CSIRTs.
• FIRST/TRANSITS Training Course - Morschach, Switzerland (in English)
  The workshop is co-organized and sponsored by ENISA, the European Network and Information Security Agency.
