Vision & Mission
As stated in the SIG mission, the SIG SecLounge aims at improving participants skills and strengthening their response and technical analysis capabilities.
By offering gamification around tools & techniques used by the FIRST community, the SIG aims at increasing diversity both in terms of profiles, genders and outreach.
The SIG contributes to the visibility of the FIRST community and the recognition of its contributions to the incident response community.
Deliverables
The SIG SecLounge is a FIRST special interest group (SIG) that works on 4 deliverables at no extra-costs for participants:
- Organises capture-the-flag (CTF) event during the annual conference with challenges;
- Maintains learning platform organised as a permanent capture-the-flag with previously played challenges, third-parties contributions and unique content;
- Organises hackathon(s) to support open-source project that are beneficial to the FIRST community at no-cost;
- Organises capture-the-flag (CTF) events in FIRST events OR events organised by SIG members organisations.
Intellectual Property and Liability
- Challenge contributors retains their respective author-rights and intellectual property.
- The SIG SecLounge and FIRST are not liable for the contents of the challenges and issues that might be related to them.
- The SigSecLounge recognises that challenges are contributed as-is without any warranty nor support from the challenge contributor (best effort basis).
Usage rights
- Contributors grant a non-exclusive right to SecLounge SIG chairs to use the challenges at no-cost for the FIRST annual conference;
- Contributions grant a non-exclusive right to SecLounge SIG chairs to replay part or the complet set of challenges at no-cost in FIRST events organised after the annual conference;
- Contributors may agree to also offer challenges at no-cost, for training purposes, to the FIRST community online on ;
- Contributors keep their rights to re-use their challenges at their own discretion in other CTFs after the FIRST conferences.
- The SIG SecLounge is open to accept sponsoring to support the cost of operations as well as the cost of developments of some challenges or prizes.
- The sponsor will be thanked with visibility on the CTF websites and clearly identified as a sponsoring entity.
- The sponsor will not be granted any rights on the content of the CTF challenges.
Supporting organisations
- The CTF supporting organisations of the contributors are entities that believe in the importance of a strong incident response community and the value of sharing knowledge.
- Supporting organisations provides part of CTF content and are thanked with visibility on the CTF websites.
