Travel Information

Arriving in Bucharest

The main airport in Bucharest is the Henri Coandă International Airport, formerly known as the Bucharest Otopeni International Airport, the name by which it is generally known (IATA: OTP). It is located 16.5 km (10.3 mi) north from Bucharest's city center and is one of two airports serving the capital; the other being Aurel Vlaicu Airport (IATA: BBU), 8.5 km (5.3 mi) north of the city center. From the airport, the most convenient way to reach the city center is by taxi. Romania is also accessible by train, via the Bucharest North Railway Station. If you decide to come by car, be aware of the high public parking tariffs in town. You are advised to consult your hotel.

Making your way to the City Center

Black Cab

Taxis are located directly outside the main exit of both airports. From OTP the ride is approximately 30 minutes without traffic, and from BBU about 20 minutes without traffic. The best option for taxi travel is Black Cab (http://www.blackcab.ro/en/)) which is a more premium chauffeur service, but is very safe and protects the traveler from many of the scams that unofficial taxi drives will attempt on foreigners. A regular fare should be no more than 200 RON (~45 €) between the airport and the city center, but can vary based on the type of car reserved.

Taxi

Travelers can also take a traditional taxi with the established "ticket system." Upon arriving at the taxi stand, travelers are issued a token, or ticket, that specifies the taxi number for their specific trip. ONLY get in the taxi that has a car number that's on your ticket, otherwise travelers can pay 3-5 times the normal fare. Many of the hotels in the city center (e.g. Radission Blu, Hilton) have the same ticketing system in their lobbies for return trips to the airport. A regular fare should be no more than 40 RON (~ 9 €) between the airport and city center.

Train/Bus

There are train and bus options for traveling between the Bucharest airports and the city center, but routes are not straightforward, and are not recommended.

Hotel/Shuttle Transportation

Several hotels in the downtown area provide a courtesy shuttle service, you should check with your hote, however a somewhat complete list of hotesl that provide shuttle service can be found on TripAdvisorl:

How to get to Dell SecureWorks / Amgen Offices

The best way to arrive at the TC venue is by taxi. From the city center, a taxi ride should take about 20 minutes with no traffic, and slightly longer with traffic. Taxi services are available form all major hotels and services like Uber are also operating in Romania.
